The 2008 Major League Baseball season begins in a little more than two weeks and Betonline has released odds on who will hit the most home runs for the season.

Ryan Howard who hit 47 homeruns in 2007 is the favorite at 300/1, just ahead of Alex Rodriguez who hit a league leading 54 home runs in 2007. Rodriguez is 400/1. Price Fiedler who hit 50 home runs for the first time in 2007 is the third favorite at 600/1.

Albert Pujols who has some questions about if his elbow will hold up through the entire season is next at 1000/1, followed by the Cincinnati Reds slugger Adam Dunn at 1100/1 and the defending champion Boston Redsox slugger David Ortiz at 1200/1.

The rest of the list continues with Atlanta Braves slugger Mark Teixeira at 1250/1, NL rookie of the year Ryan Braun +1250/1 and the field who is any other player not listed at 1250/1.

In 2007 there were 26 players who hit 30 or more home runs. Rodriguez and Fielder hit 50+ while Ryan Howard (47), Carlos Pena (46) and Adam Dunn (40) hit the 40 barrier. The 30 home run club includes Matt Holliday, Jim Thome, David Ortiz, Lance Berkman, Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Braun. Carlos Beltran, Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Lee, Albery Pujols, Chris Young, Paul Konerko, Juston Morneau, Dan Uggla, Ken Griffey, Pat Burrell, Jimmy Rollins, Mark Teixeira, Brandon Phillips, Adrian Gonzalez and David Wright.

In 2006 there were 34 players who hit more than 30+ home runs. Ryan Howard was the home run champ in 2006 hitting 58 homers.
